In the AVV network area, ticket machines are located at DB AG railway stations, at selected stops and in the Rurtalbahn trains.

ASEAG ticket machine

ASEAG ticket machines distribute AVV travel tickets and selected NRW-Tickets for immediate travel. ASEAG ticket machines accept

• bank notes and coins.

Ticket validation: 4Fahrten-Tickets and Wochenend-Tickets Jugendliche purchased at ASEAG ticket machines have to be validated before starting your journey.

DB ticket machine

The DB ticket machines offer the complete range of tickets: AVV-Tickets (not Kreis-Tickets), NRW-Tickets, and tickets for long-distance DB trains. You can pay at the machines with

• bank notes and coins,
• EC card,
• debit card,
• credit card (NRW- and long-distance travel tickets).

Ticket validation: 4Fahrten-Tickets pruchased at DB ticket machines have to be stamped by the validation machines on the platform before you start your journey (DB AG trains are not equipped with ticket validation machines). Einzel-Tickets, Tages-Tickets, Minigruppen-Tickets, the euregioticket, NRW-Tickets and the »Schönes-Wochenende-Ticket« do not require validation as they are marked with their validity date.

Rurtalbahn ticket machine

Rurtalbahn ticket machines distribute AVV travel tickets and selected package-price NRW-Tickets for immediate travel. You can purchase tickets from the Rurtalbahn ticket machines with

• bank notes and coins and
• debit card

. Ticket validation: The trains of the Rurtalbahn have validation machines next to the ticket machines. 4Fahrten-Tickets and euregiotickets purchased at Rurtalbahn ticket machines must be validated.
