Many ways to your ticket
You can buy AVV tickets at various locations depending on what is easiest for you and the ticket you require.
- At the ticket machines,
- with your mobile phone,
- in the buses from the driver,
- in the CustomerCenters of the transport companies and
- in the Advance ticket office.

Ticket validation machines are located at the DB railway stations and stops, in the vehicles of the Rurtalbahn, and on the buses.Erhöhtes Beföderungsentgelt (increased transport charge)
According to the
Conditions of carriage the AVV is required to demand an increased transport charge of EUR 40.00 from passengers if they - travel without a ticket,
- travel without a ticket that has been validated,
- do not display a ticket.
Conditions of carriage are also printed in the timetable books and can be viewed at the transport companies. In case of doubt the issue will be settled by the relevant transport company.
